The ratio of ball to material in the cement ball mill is the ratio of the weight of the grinding body to the material weight in a mill. It shows the amount of material in the grinding process under a certain amount of abrasive load, and also shows the degree of feed uniformity under the normal operation of the mill. The material in the ball mill is filled in the gap between the grinding bodies. Theoretically, it is small. When the gap of the grinding bodies is 100% filled by the materials, the production capacity of the mill reaches the maximum, so the energy is used effectively. Experiments have shown that when 100% of the gap in the abrasive body is filled with materials, the weight of the material is 14.2% of the weight of the abrasive body, and the ratio of the ball to material is about 7 (according to the production experience of some Ding mills, the closed-circuit mill should be lower). Practice has proved that when the mill (two bin tube mill) is in normal operation, it is advisable to expose half a ball of small material surface in the coarse grinding bin, and the grinding body in the fine grinding bin should be buried 1-2 cm below the material.

If the ball-to-material ratio of cement ball mill is too large, it will increase the reactive power loss between the grinding bodies and the impact friction between the grinding bodies and the lining plates, so that the power consumption increases, the ball consumption increases, and the output decreases; if the ball-to-material ratio is too small, it shows that too much grinding material will have a buffer effect, and will also reduce the grinding efficiency. There are three ways to determine the ratio of ball to material.

Cement ball mill is composed of horizontal cylinder, hollow shaft and grinding head. The cylinder is a long cylinder. The cylinder is made of steel plate. The steel lining plate is fixed with the cylinder. The grinding body is generally made of steel ball and is loaded into the cylinder according to different diameter and certain proportion. The grinding body can also be used as steel section.

When the cylinder rotates, the material and the ball are close to the lining plate under the action of centrifugal force. Due to the action of friction, the cylinder takes the material and the ball to a certain height. Under the action of gravity, the ball and the material fall at the same time, and the ball smashes the material. At the same time, sliding friction occurs between the material and the lining plate, which produces a grinding effect on the material, so as to achieve the purpose of grinding the material.
